Castletownbere Community Playground gets Revamped

Castletownbere Development Association in conjunction with Cork County Council secured funding through the Town & Village Renewal Scheme and the County Council's local amenities fund to revamp the local Playground at the west end of the town.
These works have been carried out in recent weeks and included;
  1. Replacement all rubber mats with wet pour surfacing – black with white flecks, with colour splashes at the end of the slides, ladders, ropes, etc...
  2. Cleaning and repainting of the senior and junior units and replacement of missing parts.
  3. Installation of a complete new swing set.
  4. Installation of a disability friendly carousel.
  5. Installation of a new rocker unit.
Some minor works are yet to be completed, but it is great to see this project finally get priority after years of lobbying by the CDA. The CDA would like to thank Cork County Council Local Area Engineer, Aidan Prendergast, for his assistance in getting these works completed.
